So, we gave it a shot and here we are today, completely loving what we do to help people enjoy their daily lives more, travel with peace of mind, and provide a stress-free professional pet sitting experience!  We work as a team of pet sitters.  My husband, Phillip, now works with me as well as a group of staff pet sitters.  Our staff pet sitters work closely with one another on a daily basis providing extraordinary pet care for your pet family members and customer service to you.  All of our sitters are certified in Pet First Aid and CPR through Pet Tech, the nations first course geared exclusively to pet first aid and CPR.  To add to your safety and security, all sitters are bonded and insured too!

Cathy's Critter Care is a bonded & insured, family owned, professional pet sitting company.  We are licensed and registered in Bexar, Guadalupe, and Comal Counties!  

We understand the importance of the proper care, handling, and emotional well-being of all species of animals, and believe that this can best be accomplished through at home care.  We have seen the difference being at home makes in the happiness and health of our clients' pets.  

We have an extensive list of references that we will gladly provide to you at your request.  In addition we are proud to say that we are recommended by local veterinarians, and are members of Pet Sitters International.  We've even been nominated for Pet Sitter of the Year!

We regularly attend seminars presented by pet industry professionals so that we can stay at the leading edge of quality pet care.  

Cathy Vaughan is a former employee of the San Antonio Zoo and is well versed in the care of all types of pets - exotic or domestic, and holds a degree in Biology with a minor in Psychology from SWTSU in San Marcos, TX.  She has devoted her life and career to the overall well being of animals.

We work as a team of pet sitters based in Universal City, TX and service most  of the San Antonio area and surrounding communities.  Your personal pet sitter is usually in your neighborhood or close by!  And you always get to meet one of our staff pet sitters through our get acquainted pre-service visit in conjunction with your first trip!

Affordability and Convenience
Our services are very reasonably priced for the TOTAL PEACE OF MIND that they provide you - if you have more than one pet, it generally costs less than boarding your pets.   We do not charge extra for giving medications (oral or injectible) or other special attention that your pets might need!  You no longer have to bother with loading the animals into the car and hauling them to the kennels while you are trying to get ready to leave town.  We come to you!  We provide a free pre-service visit at your home in conjunction with your first set of services where we will get all of your pet's information, set you up with a lockbox for safe and secure storage of your keys and make sure everyone is comfortable with the services.

Reliability
Thankfully we live in Texas where extreme weather is uncommon.  However we are prepared!
We met all of our clients' needs and all appointments through the "Flood of '98," the "Big Freeze of 98," the icy roads of December 2000 and the floods of 2002.  We extend this reliability to every client we see everyday!  We are there when you need us to be!  Because we work together as a team, we always have a back up plan and a sitter that can get to your house in an emergency or extreme weather circumstance!  We maintain an on-call relationship with a local veterinarian and are prepared to utilize the animal Emergency Hospital in San Antonio if we need to.

Security
All CCC pet sitters are fully bonded and insured for greater peace of mind.  All sitters have been processed through a full criminal background check.   You certainly can't get that kind of peace of mind from your friend or neighbor!    We only give your pets the best people to care for them.  You will meet with your primary pet sitter ahead of time through our pre-service "meet and greet" visit.  We do not make copies of your keys.  We set you up with a new lockbox in which to keep your keys for service each time you travel.  You pick the code and you can even change it!

We have over 17 years experience in caring for animals.  We treat all of our clients (human and pets) with the same respect and love we show our human friends, family members, and personal pets.  We are trained in basic pet first aid and CPR.  And, most important...WE LOVE ANIMALS!
