Top Ten Reasons to Use a Professional Pet Sitter Instead of Boarding!

10. Less stressful on your pets!  They don’t have to deal with barking and whining all day from other animals being boarded right next to them!  Less contact with disease from boarding neighbors.  No need for extra, and often unnecessary, vaccinations to prevent kennel diseases. Kennels charge $15 for bordetella (kennel cough) vaccine. They will not board your pet without it.  This vaccine is only necessary in kennel type situations and is not part of your pets' regular vaccination! No "extra" charges and expenses for flea control (some kennels will charge you for bathing and flea dips - even if your pet picks up fleas THERE)!

9. No rushing back into town to get to the vet’s office in time to pick up your pet before being charged for another day, or having to leave your pet another night when you just missed closing time. We cater to your schedule, whether you get in at 2:00pm or 2:00am!

8. With our professional, skilled and trained sitters you are receiving care from an expert that knows what to watch for in an animal's behavior while you are away.  We know what to do, and what NOT to do on a daily basis and in an emergency.  We are not a hobby sitter or a kid down the street just making extra money.  We've devoted ourselves to the health and happiness of our pet clients.  We are bonded and insured so you are protected.  If you "hire" a neighbor or someone else that is not insured, ANY "accident" that occurs on YOUR property is YOUR legal responsibility - even when you are out of town, and even if it isn't your fault!  A claim can be made against your homeowner's policy and in this litigious society, you might even be sued!  When you hire an insured pet sitter, our insurance covers ANY mishaps that happen - to us, to your home and to your pets or to someone else as a result of your pets!  That is TOTAL PEACE OF MIND!

7. Kennels are OVERCROWDED during holidays and busy seasons - just when you need a place to keep your pets!  Your pets often don’t get the attention or the room they are promised or deserve when workers are too busy and kennels are overcrowded.  We provide our complete care to each and every client whether it is a holiday or not.

6. You and your pets get to meet their caretaker ahead of time in a familiar setting.  It is very rare that you can meet the people taking care of your pets at a kennel - the same person doesn't care for your pet the whole time at a kennel so they aren't accustomed to your pet's personality and most kennel workers are not even trained in animal care and behavior issues.  They are paid just over minimum wage to care for one of your most precious family members!  We devote time and energy to staying up to date with current behavioral and medical issues so your pets have a well educated, well-trained pet care expert!

5. Your home is protected and secure while you are away due to frequent visits by your pet sitter, and the fact that your animals are "guarding" the home!  Even the bark of a small dog will deter intruders!  Lights can be altered, papers brought in, mail retrieved, and a TV or radio turned off and on so that it appears that someone is at home.

4. The size of boarding cages: Average size ONLY 3 feet x 3 feet x 2 feet!  The size of kennel runs: Average size ONLY 6 feet x 3 feet.! Your pet spends the majority of their time at a kennel in the cage. Compare this to the size of your house, apartment or yard!  We provide at least 30 minutes of one on one time with your pet and administer a snout-to-tail assessment each day to insure their health!

3. Minimal exercise in a kennel, and very little one on one time with your pet. Your pet sitter will devote the majority of each visit to the care and emotional well being of your pet.  They will allow more than enough time for a leisurely play outside and a potty break.  Your pet is not rushed to do her business and is allowed ample exercise and playtime in the safe environment of her home and neighborhood.

2. Your pets get to stay on the same routine and same food/feeding schedule that they are used to. Your pet won't be given the wrong food by a kennel worker by mistake (yes, it happens)!  You receive a daily visitation log so that you know exactly when your pet sitter was at your home, how your pet looked through the Snout-to-Tail Assessment and what services were provided each visit while you were away.

1. You and your pets can establish a positive one-on-one relationship with their expert caregiver on this trip and trips in the future!  We are your personal pet sitter!  We really know our clients and devote ourselves to expert, professional and personal care!
