On June 21, 2002, Cathy's Critter Care is going to the dogs!  Alongside thousands of other American businesses, Cathy's Critter Care is participating in Pet Sitters International’s Take Your Dog To Work Day.
    This nationwide, dog friendly event allows owners to take their well-behaved and groomed canines into participating workplaces for a day.  Take Your Dog To Work Day calls attention to the wonderful pets that dogs make and encourages adoption of them from rescue clubs, humane organizations and animal shelters.
   Take Your Dog To Work Day is being hosted by Pet Sitters International (PSI, www.petsit.com), an educational organization for professional pet sitters.  This year, the Iams Company (www.iams.com) is the exclusive sponsor of TYDTWDay.  In addition to providing world-class quality foods for dogs and cats, Iams is a pioneer of corporate pet-friendly policies in this country.
    “Fortunately, health benefits of pet ownership have been substantiated by scientific studies,” says Patti Moran, president of PSI.  “But, unfortunately, the number of dogs that need caring owners continues to grow in this country.  We hope that once coworkers see firsthand what great pets dogs make, many will be encouraged to adopt a dog,” she says.  “At PSI we believe that every pet should be a wanted pet, which has a pet sitter,” she continues.  “Participation in Take Your Dog To Work Day will help us to see this goal become a reality.”

• Pet Taxi transport to and from businesses participating in TYDTWDay
• Pet Wellness and Adoption Day on Saturday June 22, 2002 for those people inspired by TYDTWDay so that they might adopt a pet from a local animal shelter

 Pawprints Professional Pet Sitting and Cathy's Critter Care Professional Pet Sitting are joining together to celebrate National Take Your Dog to Work Day – a Pet Sitters International Sanctioned Event!  The focus of this national day is to recognize the great companions dogs make and to encourage adoption from local shelters and animal rescue groups. 

Officially, Take Your Dog to Work Day is Friday June 21, 2002.  Owners are asked to take their well-mannered, well-groomed dogs to their work place to demonstrate what a great family addition a dog can be.  Both Pawprints Professional Pet Sitting and Cathy's Critter Care Professional Pet Sitting will be supporting this idea through services offered by our businesses. 

However our main focus will be on Saturday June 22, 2002 when our businesses will be sponsoring a Pet Wellness and Adoption Day!  The Pet Wellness and Adoption Day will be held from 2pm-6pm.  We are asking for your assistance in one or more of the following areas: 

·         Low Cost Pet Vaccinations

·         Low Cost Microchip Insertions

·         All Species Pet Adoptions from Shelters and Rescue Groups

·         Animal Health Information and Education

·         Animal Training Information and Education

·         Live Demonstrations by Animals and Handlers

·         Donations of Food and Drinks

·         Donations of Raffle Items

·         Donation of Area Location for the Event 

We anticipate this First Annual Pet Wellness and Adoption Day to be a great success and a fun and valuable way to help area pets in need find homes, receive vaccinations and to educate local owners on a variety of animal issues.  But we need your help to make this event a success!  Anything you can offer would be very much appreciated.  We anticipate “staggering” events, demonstrations, vaccination and microchip clinics throughout the afternoon so that each organization/office can donate as little as one hour of time to the event.
